J.K। Rowling has launched Pottermore, an interactive website to continue the story of the young boy wizard.The site, will sell her seven Potter novels as e-books and audiobooks in several different languages। It will also reveal background details on characters and settings Rowling says she's been “hoarding for years.”
Rowling has cornered her project from Apple and Amazon and launched it directly by saving at least one galleon। The site launches on the birth day of Mr। Potter i.e। July 31. Target is of one million of fan following for early access of the website। Pottermore opens its gates to the masses for free on October 1, 2011.
Pottermore isn't a game as it was predicted earlier। Sources say it’s a series of illustrated environments, themed around “moments” from Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone। There will be some material from other novels as well।
It is like Privet Drive, where user can explore Harry's cupboard under the stairs before moving on to Platform, the Hogwarts Express, Diagon Alley and Gringotts। It’s so interesting that each new witch or wizard gets a personalized trunk, 175 galleons and a Hogwarts shopping list। Then they're directed to Ollivander's, where they are asked a series of questions like what is the color of the eye, which is the favorite artifact, in order that their wand can choose them.
